Alyson Pray
Ballet & Pointe
Alyson Pray began dancing at the age of eight at the Bowman School of Dance in Cherry Hill, NJ. She went on to train at the Rock School of the Pennsylvania Ballet, the Kirov Academy in Washington, D.C., and the Pennsylvania Academy of Ballet. She also attended summer programs at Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet and Boston Ballet. In 1999, Alyson joined the Sarasota Ballet of Florida under the direction of Robert de Warren. In 2002, she was promoted to Soloist. Here Alyson perfromed the role of Odette in Swan Lake, Sugar Plum Fairy in the Nutcracker and Oueen of the Dryads in Don Quixote. In 2005, Alyson became a member of the Pennsylvania Ballet. Alyson had the opportunity to dance the Wife in Jermon Robbins, the Concert. She performed several Balanchine ballets including Serenade, Theme and Variations, Western Symphony, and Ballo de Regina. Alyson also danced Twyla Tharp's Push Comes To Shove and Paul Taylor's Company B, as well as many classical ballets including Romeo and Juliet, Sleeping Beauty, Giselle and Swan lake. In 2010, Alyson guested with the Washington Ballet where she danced Balanchine's 4 T's. She has also worked with choreographer Christopher Fleming on independent projects and continues to perform with the Pennsylvania Ballet. Alyson has been teaching ballet and choreographing for eleven years and holds a Bachelor of Science in Alertnative Medicine.
